In March 2018 Sarah Runzheimer was appointed as EASM Office Manager in order to assist the General Secretary with day to day office tasks and membership management. Sarah is an undergraduate student of Sport Management and Sport Communications at the German Sports University in Cologne. She has gained experience in working in sport associations as a Project Manager with the Oceania Athletics Association, where she has managed a sport for development program in three pacific island nations. This was also valuable as she was exposed to an international and multicultural environment, which will be beneficial for the work in the EASM office.

The European Sport Management Conference 2019 will take place in the beautiful city of Seville (Spain). EASM President Vassil Girginov, head of the local organising committee Gerardo Bielons and EASM Vice-President Ruth Crabtree officially signed the contract today. See you 3 – 6 Sep 2019 in Seville.

The abstract submission platform is now open for your contribution to the 26^th EASM – The European Sport Management Conference. Don’t wait until the submission deadline (20^th April). The earlier you submit your abstract the sooner you will receive the feedback, and can plan your conference participation right in advance. The first abstracts have been uploaded and the reviewers are working hard to provide constructive feedback to your work.

Thank you to all 114 EASM members who completed the membership survey concerning the charters & bye-laws during the last two weeks. We are very impressed by the high response rate of 25.8 % and appreciate every individual contribution to this important topic. Within the next weeks and months we take your comments into consideration and will come up with a final draft of the new EASM charters & bye-laws by the end of May 2018. This gives all EASM members enough time to study the draft before the voting process will take place during the general assembly in September in Malmö.

“Exploring new routes within brand research in sport management” – The European Sport Management Quarterly (ESMQ) 2020 Special Issue is designated to this topic. Scholars are kindly invited to submit their research to the Special Issue Workshop during the EASM conference 2018 in Malmö. The workshop aims to support and generate innovative research papers for submission to the ESMQ 2020 Special Issue.

The workshop will take place during the 26th European Sport Management Conference of the European Association for Sport Management (EASM) in Malmö, 5-8 September 2018. The conference online submission system opens 20 February, deadline for submissions is 20 April 2018.

The deadline for applicants for this year’s rankings is 23 March.

Please ensure that your course fulfils the following criteria:

• Your course must be at postgraduate level and 100-per-cent related to the business and administration of sport. Physiotherapy, sports psychology and sports science courses are not eligible.
• Your course has been running for three or more consecutive years.

Now in their 7th year the Postgraduate Course Rankings are the most comprehensive guide to postgraduate sports business courses worldwide. Alumni of the courses are surveyed on topics including whether they secured employment within the sports industry after completing the course, and their views on the quality of teaching.
