Research Professor in Sport Ethics and Integrity at KU Leuven (Belgium)

KU Leuven invites scholars to apply for a full‐time research professorship in the area of Sports Ethics and Integrity. This position is funded by the Special Research Fund (BOFZAP), established by the Flemish Government. We are looking for internationally and interdisciplinary oriented candidates with a background in Applied Ethics (e.g. sport ethics, bioethics, healthcare ethics, research ethics), an excellent research record and an outstanding educational competence within this field. Applications will be evaluated in parallel and independently by 1) the KU Leuven Research Council in a competitive process across academic domains and 2) the faculty advisory committee. During the first 10 years, the teaching obligations as a research professor will be limited. Afterwards, the position will be transformed into a regular professorship.

The Sport Management Program within the Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management (KNSM) in the School of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University (TAMU) welcomes applicants to join the Sport Management faculty. We are seeking a qualified Sport Management educator for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor. Our vibrant and continually growing program offers BS, MS, online MS, and PhD degrees. The program places equal emphasis on the professional preparation of undergraduate and graduate students while having an internationally recognized brand. Our Sport Management Program serves over 1100 undergraduate and graduate students majors and minors. With a commitment to teaching excellence, the successful candidates will balance academic research skills and industry networking capability to advance the department and student development.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses both face-to-face and online, conducting research, outreach to industry in connecting students and enhancing career opportunities, presenting research in scholarly publications and/or presentations, serving on departmental committees, serving on master’s and doctoral committees. This typically involves maintaining an 80% teaching, 10% research, and 10% service load.

Appointment: This is a full-time, nine-month academic professional track (non-tenure) position with an anticipated August 1, 2024 start date. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management (https://knsm.tamu.edu) within the School of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University welcomes applications for our growing Sport Management program for three (3) full-time 9-month tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at the rank of Associate or Assistant Professor based in the College Station campus. We look to appoint academic leaders and scholars who can commit to the discovery, learning, and engagement missions of the department. Applicants must have scholarly credentials commensurate with the rank of an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor at an R1 University, a PhD with specialization and research interest in organizational behavior, marketing, analytics, and related disciplines, and possess a strong record of published research and external funding or demonstrate the potential to do so. With a commitment to teaching excellence, the successful candidates will balance academic research skills and industry networking capability to advance the department and student development. Sustainability Report

EASM Sustainability Survey

In line with our strategic priorities, it is our aim to conduct conferences, activities and operations in an environmentally, socially and economically sustainable manner. Moreover, we strive to maximise the social footprint of the conference, activities and operations.

In order to fulfil our responsibility as organisers of the largest sports management conference in Europe, we have begun to critically question the sustainability of the EASM conference, to have it independently evaluated and to work on recommendations for action to improve the status quo.

EASM wants to thank Andrea Collins, Nicole Koenig-Lewis, and Eve Williams from Cardiff University for the thourough sustainability report of EASM 2022 in Innsbruck, Austria and is looking forward to shaping the conference and organisation in a more sustainable manner.

W3-Professorship for Communication- and Media Science in Sport

GSU seeks an internationally recognised personality who represents communication and media studies in their entire breadth in research and teaching. Special expertise is expected in at least one of the following two areas: (1) media economics and media business, (2) journalism research.

Applicants must document:
– relevant international as well as thematically broad publication achievements in the field of communication and media studies, preferably in the context of the professorship
– high level of expertise in theory-based quantitative and qualitative methods of empirical social research
– recognisable transfer achievements of the scientific findings into practice
– successful acquisition of third-party funds, especially competitive ones
– positively evaluated teaching.

Applicants are expected to have:
– experience with interdisciplinary cooperation
– international research cooperation
– competencies in the area of personnel management and development.

Desirable are:
– interdisciplinary connectivity
– teaching competence in English
– international experience in academic institutions.

Willingness to work in all Bachelor’s, Master’s and teaching degree programmes of the university is
expected.

Requirements for employment pursuant to § 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia
are:

– a Ph.D. or equivalent
– appropriate pedagogical/educational skills,
– a post-doctoral qualification (habilitation) or equivalent academic achievements.

The position entails a teaching obligation of 9 SWS (F1).

Applications for the 14th cycle of the UEFA Research Grant Programme (UEFA RGP) are now open!

This research scheme is for anyone working on, or already holding, a PhD who is analysing European football from a variety of academic disciplines. Grant applicants must submit a recommendation letter from a UEFA member association, thus ensuring that their project is undertaken in line with contemporary issues and has the highest practical value possible.

In order to foster cooperation between its member associations and European universities, UEFA allows up to three researchers based in the territories of three different national associations to submit joint applications. Each individual project selected by the UEFA Research Grant Jury is eligible for a grant of up to €15,000 and each joint project for a grant of up to €20,000 for a nine-month research period.

UEFA has developed a Social Return on Investment (hereafter known as “UEFA SROI”) Model to provide a social impact evaluation of the holistic and societal benefits of amateur football participation. The UEFA SROI Model is comprised of a series of measurable ‘outcomes’. Each outcome is powered by a specific algorithm that results in a statement that calculates the holistic and societal benefits of football participation.


The UEFA SROI Model is comprised of the following bodies:

Editorial Board: the executive, decision-making body that steers the UEFA SROI Model

Reviewers: the pool of experts, comprised of Data Experts and Econometrics Experts, responsible for critically evaluating the UEFA SROI Model through a rigorous peer review process

Contributors: the academics, databases and institutions who submit research and expertise that is implemented in the UEFA SROI Model. Please stay tuned for more information on how to submit research as a “contributor” to the UEFA SROI Model.
